In short

  • No analytics or tracking tools, no advertising.
  • No cookies for visitors.
  • Fonts are served from our own server, not from Google.
  • Data is only processed to run the website and to answer enquiries.

Hosting and server log files

The website is hosted by Mittwald CM Service GmbH & Co. KG, Königsberger Strasse 4–6, 32339 Espelkamp, Germany. When a page is accessed, the server automatically stores technical information: IP address, date and time, the address accessed, the previously visited page (referrer), and browser and operating system. This data is used solely to operate the website securely and reliably, is not combined with other data and is deleted after a short period. Mittwald processes the data on our behalf; Germany provides an adequate level of data protection. The legal basis under the GDPR is our legitimate interest in operating the website (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Contact form and email

If you use the contact form or send an email, you transmit your name, email address, subject and message. This information is used solely to handle your enquiry, delivered by email and also stored on the website’s server. It is deleted as soon as it is no longer needed, at the latest after two years, unless statutory retention obligations apply. An invisible extra field and Cloudflare Turnstile (see below) keep spam away. The legal basis under the GDPR is your enquiry or our legitimate interest in answering it (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).

Spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile)

To protect against spam, the contact form uses Turnstile by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When the form is loaded, Turnstile uses technical characteristics such as the IP address and browser information to check whether you are a human; no picture puzzle is required. The data is used for this purpose only and may be transferred to the USA. Cloudflare is certified under the Data Privacy Framework between Switzerland, the EU and the USA. The legal basis under the GDPR is our legitimate interest in a working, spam-free contact form (Art. 6(1)(f)). More information: Cloudflare privacy policy.

Cookies

The website does not set any cookies for visitors. Technically necessary cookies are only created when logging in to the editorial area.

Embedded videos (YouTube)

Some posts, for example in “News”, embed videos from YouTube, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Videos are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com): YouTube only sets cookies once a video is played. However, technical data such as your IP address is transmitted to YouTube as soon as the page loads, and data may also reach Google LLC in the USA. Google is certified under the Data Privacy Framework between Switzerland, the EU and the USA. More information: Google privacy policy.

Links to social networks and music services

The website links to Instagram, Facebook, Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp. These are simple links: no data is transmitted until you click a link. From then on, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.

Security

The connection to the website is encrypted (HTTPS). To protect the editorial area, the IP address and time of failed login attempts are stored temporarily.

Your rights

You may at any time request information about your stored data, ask for it to be corrected, deleted or handed over, and object to its processing. An email to milan.waelti@gmail.com is sufficient. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, in the EU, with the competent supervisory authority.

Changes

This privacy policy may be updated if the website or the legal framework changes. The version published here applies.
